Hope Lewis  is a performance storyteller from Seal Cove, Maine. She retired from teaching and just couldn’t stay retired.  She enjoys creating original stories, but particularly savors performing tales from a wide variety of traditions.  Her stories are crafted to appeal to the entire family.
Hope enjoys telling for all audiences, from school groups to elders. You will find wisdom stories, traditional folklore and environmentally conscious stories in her repertoire. She is honored to have been accepted as an Acadia Centennial Partner for their 2016 celebration. Look for her as a storytelling performer throughout the year and throughout Acadia National Park.
Hope creates custom programs that respond to the needs and requests of varied audiences: church programs, schools, colleges, libraries, festivals, community organizations, elder programs and more.
Maine humor and local stories appear often in Hope’s programs, especially those crafted for adult audiences.

Hope Lewis is a storyteller who lives in Seal Cove, Maine, USA.
Over the decades, she has worked as a mental health counselor, taught college, trained horses, worked as a management consultant, been a knitting instructor, and studied art and drama.

Over the past 15 years she has performed storytelling programs for schools, libraries, festivals, elder programs, community organizations, conferences and other events. She coordinates a summer story program at her local library, and takes her shows to schools to introduce youngsters to world culture and values through folktales.

She is currently the President of the Board of Directors of Northeast Storytelling, a regional non-profit based in the northeastern US. NES is a regional affiliate of the national Storytelling Network. In addition, she coordinates a local Storytelling Guild.
She teaches Storytelling and Readers’ Theatre for two local senior colleges.

She creates and leads workshops on emotional intelligence, neural coupling and planned sensory channeling for area Library organizations.
