An award winning actress best known for her portrayals of Alice Dingle on ITV's Emmerdale and Carol on Channel 4's Bafta Nominated Teachers, Ursula Holden Gill is now also making a name for herself as one of the North West's most captivating storytellers who incorporates, quite uniquely, characterisation, song, dance, verse and a wealth of comedic charm into each of her spell binding sets. To date, Ursula has enjoyed commissions with Opera North, The Northern Centre for Storytelling, Festival of the Edge, Holmfirth Folk Festival, Pendle Witch Camp, Whitby Folk Festival, Howarth 1940's Festival, Heptonstall Festival, Festival of the Glens and Hebden Bridge Arts Festival. Also within the Prison service, at Community Groups, Bookstores, Schools and Libraries, Folk and Story Clubs throughout the UK. From September 2011 onwards, Ursula will become the first ever Storyteller in Residence for the N.S.P.C.C. Ursula is a member of the Shaggy Dog Story Club in Hebden Bridge and also the British Society for Storytelling. Member of International Storytelling Network. |
