The storytelling festivals have been held for over 9 years in Afghanistan. The most important story topics include: epic tales and heroes (the history of heroes` tales life that are informative for children).

My land stories (fiction stories which were told by people), tales of peace and love; these stories have a message of peace and kindness as well as historical and educational.

Teachers, children, adolescents and other educational institution take part in these festivals.

The members of Afghanistan Artistic and cultural storytellers Association started the first activities 10 years ago at Towhid Educational Institutions. They could add storytelling subject in the curriculum of Tawhid schools successfully and encouraged the teachers to tell story for the children.

The interest of teachers and students in storytelling field caused holding storytelling festival in the city of Herat by the association members. Afghanistan Artistic and cultural storytellers Association was registered officially in Afghanistan Ministry of Information and Culture on 2016.
