Chennai Storytelling Festival 2013 --
Teaching-and-Learning about Storytelling.


1-3 (Friday-Sunday) February 2013

Presented by Chennai Storytelling Association, Indian Storytelling
Network, World Storytelling Institute, and Goethe Institute, Chennai.

The core of the Festival is six three-hour Workshops:

1) "Keynote session: Storytelling in the World Today",
10am-1pm, Fri 1 Feb.

2) "Storytelling and Business", 2-5pm, Fri 1 Feb.

3) "Storytelling and Child Development" (on Emotional, Social,
Linguistic, and Physical levels), 10am-1pm, Sat 2 Feb.

4) "Storytelling and Tourism", 2-5pm, Sat 2 Feb.

5) "Storytelling and Therapy/Healing/Counselling",
10am-1pm, Sun 3 Feb.

6) "Storytelling and Education" (Two test cases: teaching Ecology
and Languages), 2-5pm, Sun 3 Feb.

Admission to these Workshops is free. Advance registration for all
three days, or for individual Workshops, is requested.

There would also be Storytelling Performances in the evenings.
Our Special Guest Speaker and Storyteller is Ms Kamini Ramachandran of
Singapore: Artistic Director, Singapore International Storytelling Festival;
Founding Member and Vice President, Storytelling Association
(Singapore), and Co-Founder/Director, Moonshadow Stories.

And -- Please join us for the Post-Festival Two-Day Field-Trip:
"Storytelling Workshop in the Countryside" (in the Thanjavur area).
We would receive training in Story and Song, a style of storytelling
in which the Storyteller often breaks into song, as the Narrator and
as Characters. (In Tamil, with English translation.)
